Making the decision to seek therapy is a big step toward moving forward. You are looking to be heard, understood and to feel better.

Promoting hope and empowerment is an important part of therapy and of moving forward.

Are you or someone close to you, feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, stress or life transitions? Would you like to feel more positive about yourself, cope better, understand your strong emotions, and make changes in your life? Do you have a child or a teen who needs support and you worry about them?

Learning to understand thoughts, emotions and behavior that seem confusing, frustrating or unpredictable can help with seeing ourselves in a more positive light and feeling more in control. Therapy provides a safe and non-judgmental place for individuals to understand issues, develop skills and make a plan to move forward.

I am a licensed psychologist with dual training in developmental and clinical psychology and I have been in the field of mental and behavioral health for over 25 years. I work with children, teens and adults.

Therapy is a place in which we are working together to help you feel better and achieve your goals.

Establishing a positive connection with you is essential. I strive to be respectful, relatable, empathetic, curious and genuine in my interactions. Given that life can be difficult, I find that humor and light heartedness helps with the healing process. I will celebrate your progress and remind you of the positive steps you have taken even if they seem small in your eyes. We will work together to help you increase your self-compassion and acceptance of yourself.

Working together in therapy means that your thoughts, opinions and ideas are very important. Therapy is a great place to learn to use your voice and identify and focus on your own needs. In our everyday lives, it is hard to say what we think and advocate for ourselves. Knowing how and when to speak up can be very helpful in getting your needs met. You will feel empowered when you learn how to advocate for yourself and loved ones.

My approach is individualized for each person. I enjoy working across the lifespan and I use different techniques to engage children, teens and adults. Flexibility in treatment approach is necessary because we all have different needs. It is important to recognize your values, culture, background, challenges and strengths and consider these factors in our work together.
